Comfort

The Bose around-ear headphones are designed with comfort in mind. Adjustable and light at just five ounces. These headphones feel like they were born on your head.

Sound quality

This is not going to be the same sound quality as other Bose models. This is lower range quality for Bose, because of its price. These noise canceling headphones will meet the needs of some and not others. It’s not a terrible unit, but it won’t sound as good when compared to more expensive models.

Cons

The plastic is not the most durable. The build feels a little cheaper than more expensive Bose models. Lower sound quality when compared to pro models.

Pros

The design works well. While the model might not be the most durable, it feels good on your head. These headphones are quite enjoyable. The Bose warrantee. Long chord. Ok on sound leakage.

Audio Technica ATH-ANC7B Active Noise-Cancelling Closed-Back Headphones

It’s hard to do better. For around $100 bucks that is. The Audio Technica ANC7B Closed-Back Headphones use AAA batteries and are comfortable. Hows the “noise cancelling?” The Audio Technica features on the ANC7B headphones reduce noise by up to 85%. They do well for most environments and for the price with the portability, it’s hard to beat.

Some will need the earcups over the in-ear technology of Etymotic noise cancelling models, and some will like the affordability and better portability than some Bose models.

Cons.

Some people just won’t like that this model uses AAA batteries. They’re more expensive and depending on your usage you might go through a lot of them. Some people find that they spend too much money buying batteries for this model.

These headphones will not compare to the quality of more expensive Bose headphones.

Music and sound may leak outside the ear cup even if you position it right. It’s not a lot but it’s sometimes noticeable. This is a more common complaint of this item. Many don’t like that others can hear what they are listening to with their headphones that are supposed to cancel the noise.

Pros

Even though the battery life is not amazing, it can be better than some other noise canceling models.

They will block the sound but what you really need to consider is what your usage is. If you have more professional uses you should maybe go for something like the Bose Quiet Comfort 15 headphones, or the Audio Technica ATHANC7 model.

But for the price, you are getting some great headphones that are comfortable, compact, sound great and durable. That’s a great value in a package of about $100.

Great value at a lowish price. With the JVC HANC250 High-Grade Noise-Cancelling Headphones you get good quality without spending too much money.

The technology used in the JVC HANC250 Headphones offer 85% noise reduction.

Comfy headphones
Very light.
Well built.
Long lasting.
Great design.

There is no volume control on the headset so that can be a small inconvenience if you’re used to controlling the volume that way.

You might actually like these headphones better than the Bose headphones because the technology is different. Etymotic, Bose and all the other companies use different technologies so you will get a different sound.

The battery life is also pretty good on the jvc HANC250 headphones.

What’s the best way to reduce the noise?

If you’re like us, you just want the noise gone now! What is the best way? There are a few different factors to consider.

Budget and price.
Isolation vs. sound blocking.
Portability.

Bose headphones are great at blocking out noise but they can be bulky.

Etymotic noise-isolation earbuds are amazing at isolating the noise with their special technology. But the earbuds are hard to put in your ears. Etymotic earbuds might be great for you if you need super portable noise isolation technology.

Some other brands put out great headphones without the option to turn off Noise Cancellation. What the heck?
